North End History Walking Tours provide an opportunity for community members to learn about and celebrate the rich history of our neighbourhood with an informed and local host.

Each year, we offer tours in collaboration with Jane’s Walk Winnipeg and Doors Open Winnipeg (Heritage Winnipeg)

  • a 1 hour guided tour exploring Selkirk Avenue's yesterday and imagining what tomorrow could look like. Topics of conversation include historic buildings, The Palace Theatre redevelopment, arson prevention, community development and more!

  • explore the businesses and vibrant communities that have helped make Main Street so iconic for the last 100 years. Starting at Main and Cathedral, we will see Shelly's Indigenous Bistro, continuing to Pollock's Hardware Co-Op, Ogniwo Polish Museum, Modern Coffee and more to our finishing spot on Matheson and Main (formerly Salisbury House). We will explore the current businesses that are open and also share our memories of stores, shops and buildings that are no longer standing.

  • Beginning at the North End Bell Tower, continuing to The Palace Theatre, Merchants Corner and finishing at the Ukrainian Labour Temple, this tour focuses on the art, architecture and activism that has defined what we call North End Spirit.

  • If you would like a customized tour of a specific area or tour we can connect with the necessary resources and information to put together a tour that meets your needs.

Organizations are welcome to reach out and develop a tour of your own with us as well!
